Kylie Minogue Slaps Stuff Magazine Writer
The Mirror reports Kylie Minogue lost her temper with Stuff magazine writer Bill Schulz and slapped him across the face at an after-show party following her appearance on Saturday Night Live. Shulz claims, "In reaction to an interview we did, Kylie Minogue slapped me across the face at a Saturday Night Live after-party." According to Kylie's people, the writer is not only guilty of writing an unflattering interview, but embellishing the truth. "It was a verbal assault," her spokesman told us. "She told him he needed a slap across the face."

Britney's Outfits Sold For $78,000

Shakira third most searched for female on Earth
Britney Spears is no longer most searched-for babe . Pop princess Britney Spears has been ousted as the most searched-for female on the internet, but the top ten is still dominated by singers and tennis players. Latin divas Jennifer Lopez and Shakira have taken the throne as the most searched-for stars, in positions one and three respectively. Britney has been knocked back to fourth place while singer-pianist Alicia Keys has stormed into second place. Previous favourite Anna Kournikova has slipped down to fifth. According to search engine Ask Jeeves, which released the figures, there has been a 128-per-cent increase in picture searches for Shakira and J-Lo over the last six months. As for the men, England captain David Beckham is still number one, while Robbie Williams is only just managing to hold off Will Young from second place. Nick Pearson, from Ask Jeeves UK, said: "Picture searches on the web have increased hugely recently and we are getting a real sense of who's hot and who's not on the celebrity circuit." He said that according to the questions people ask, it is easy to chart the rise to fame of the new stars of recent months as well as how quickly their careers will fade into oblivion.

Backstreets Back?
Speculation has arisen due to the upcoming release of Backstreet Boy Nick Carter's solo album "Now Or Never," out Oct. 22. The album will be the first full-scale solo breakout from a Backstreet Boy and it's got fans in a tizzy. That might have to do with Carter's remarks to Popcorn magazine earlier this month where he claimed bandmember Brian Littrell accused him of destroying the band by branching out on his own. But Nick has written a column in J14 magazine setting the record straight: "Right now some people are worried that the Backstreet Boys are over, but it's not true." Nick Carter revealed info on his new sound in J14 Magazine: "I can't stray too far away from what I've done with the Backstreet Boys, so I've stuck with that and also added a new element; rock music."

Petition against Ashanti
After the nominations for the Lady of Soul Awards were released July 24th, many fans have spoken out opposing the selection of Ashanti to receive the Aretha Franklin Entertainer of the Year Award; so much so that a petition has been created against the honoree. The petition states, "We, the undersigned, feel that there are many superior entertainers that are more worthy of this award than Ashanti... Ashanti simply lacks singing ability and stage presence... Better candidates for this award are Faith Evans, Alicia Keys, India.Arie, or Aaliyah." So far the signatures have shot from 895 on Thursday at 8:00am to 6,300 as of today.

TLC to 3D
Reports have been circulating that TLC will be calling their new album '3D'. Fan site CyberTLC.com noted that the domain name tlc3d.com was registered by Arista Records on June 5th. Adding fuel to the speculation is CyberTLC.com also claims HMV Japan confirms that the new album will be called 3D.  Arista Records has denied these rumours, saying that no album title has been confirmed yet.  The album will most likey be in tribute to Left Eye, who died a few months ago in a car crash.

Dirty Christina!
Christina Aguilera's mom posted the wrong title of Christina's new single yesterday, the right title is "Dirty" instead of "Let's Get Dirty". The single will be released in mid-september and the video will be shot at the end of this month in LA and will be directed by Paul Hunter. Check out the gallery for a great picture of Christina recording in the studio.

Britney rocks the teens!
From BritneySpears.com: Britney won two Teen Choice awards at the August 4th taping of the show in Universal City, California. She won for "Choice Female Artist," the highest honor in the music category, beating out Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Missy Elliott, Macy Gray, Jennifer Lopez, Mandy Moore and Jessica Simpson. The "Austin Powers" character - played by Verne Troyer - couldn't have seemed happier as he and the blond pop tart, his co-star in "Goldmember," traded quips. Sarah Michelle Gellar received the Choice Movie Actress Comedy Award, as Susan Sarandon and 17-year-old daughter Eva made the scene. The show airs on Fox on Aug. 19.

The singing heart-throb's groomsmen will sport a similar ensemble with black ties.

Major Britney Report - Taking 6 months off
Music industry sources said the 21-year-old pop tart, still brokenhearted after the split from Justin Timberlake, is "exhausted" and wants to quit the music scene for two years while she reclaims her life in Louisiana. But a rep for Spears said, "She is not taking two years off, she is trying to take six months off, and Louisiana is home to her." According to one music industry spy, "Britney's lost it. She was really upset after she was booed in London and Mexico, and she's saying she is going to pack it in for two years. "She's planning on moving back to Louisiana and living with her mother. She's tired of being under constant pressure to perform, and is exhausted and is still broken up about Justin." Spears recently flipped the finger at Mexican paparazzi when they tried to snap her photo, and she was booed when she aborted a concert after just four songs. Her handlers blamed the early exit on an approaching thunderstorm. The sexy singer also caught flack during the London premiere of her movie "Crossroads" earlier this year, when she showed up late and didn't stop to pose for photos or sign autographs. Before Britney - who has homes in the Hollywood Hills and NoHo - headed home to Mama, she spent one final weekend partying at Hugh Hefner's Pajama Party at the Playboy mansion in Beverly Hills. Pals said Spears is still obsessed with Timberlake and that she hit on Leonardo DiCaprio to make her former flame jealous. A recent leak from her camp suggested that Spears and DiCaprio, who recently split with supermodel Gisele Bundchen, had a "secret date at her [Hollywood] house this Saturday." The Spears leak also suggested that Britney and Leo had met before: "They got on really well, so a mutual friend set them up." But DiCaprio's spokesman - who coincidentally also happens to rep Timberlake - denied this. "Leo and Britney were at the same event last weekend in Los Angeles," Ken Sunshine said. "They were introduced, said hello, and there was no further contact. That is it." DiCaprio and his pal Tobey Maguire "had the pick of the litter" at the Playboy party and neither showed much interest in Spears. Another music spy said, "She is desperate to hook up with someone who will make Justin jealous. She is 21 going on 9 years old, and just can't get over the fact that he has moved on." Spears' rep declined to comment on her client's personal life.

Mike Myers Says Britney's Nice & Down To Earth
Mike Myers was full of kind words on his 'Goldmember' co-star Britney Spears in a recent AOL chat. Asked how it was working with Britney on the 'Boys' remix video, Myers said, "It felt nice. She's really cool, Britney. She's nice. She likes to laugh. She's very silly. When you work with people that are so incredibly famous, it's very strange, like your in a video with the Eiffel Tower or something. You know, you just can't, you keep looking, you can't believe it's actually Britney Spears. Having said that, within 5 seconds of talking to her, you realize she's just nice and down to earth, she's got a nice personality, she's lovely."

Gwyneth Paltrow Doesn't Respect Jennifer Lopez
MSNBC's Jeannette Walls reports sources who know Gwyneth Paltrow say she's appalled that her ex-boyfriend Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are dating. "Gwyn is a woman of great taste and class, and she just doesn't respect Jennifer," says one source. "She's sort of appalled. Don't forget that this is a woman who said she would immediately dump a man if he wore the wrong shoes." Part of the bad blood stems from J.Lo's comments to Movieline magazine that blasted Paltrow's acting ability, saying, "I don't remember anything she [Paltrow] was in. Some people get hot by association. I heard more about her and Brad Pitt than I ever heard about her work."

Russian Space Agency Says 'N Sync Star Must Pay Up
Russia's space agency said on Wednesday it might forget plans for 'N Sync singer Lance Bass to join an October mission to the International Space Station because he had failed to meet a payment deadline.  "There are a number of deadlines for the installments to be paid, but the first part has already been delayed. Theoretically, we can already dissolve his contract," Rosaviakosmos spokesman Sergei Gorbunov said. Bass, backed by a consortium of companies rounded up by a Hollywood producer, has signed a preliminary contract but has yet to secure a final deal guaranteeing a seat aboard the Soyuz craft. He is already training in Star City, just outside Moscow.

Oasis in accident
Three members of British pop group Oasis have been hurt in a car crash in Indianapolis while on tour, the band said on it's web site August 7. Singer Noel Gallagher, bass player Andy Bell and keyboard player Jay Darlington were taken to a hospital on Tuesday afternoon after their taxi was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle.

Moby Vs Eminem
Moby has hit back at Eminem's constant attacks at the New York electronica star. 'I don't know why Eminem hates me when he hasn't even met me,' said Moby, who is currently in the middle of his US Area 2 tour. Eminem dissed the bald headed dance star in his recent single Without Me by singing the line: 'Moby you're too old, nobody listen to techno no more.' The rap star was also stabbing  a fake effigy of Moby on his Anger Management tour of the US. 'I wonder what Eminem would say if his daughter dated an abusive man and when the police came to arrest him the man said: 'Well my father said it was OK to do it.'? said Moby referring to the violence in Eminem's lyrics.

Justin & Joey have it out with Britney!
Justin Timberlake took a sly dig at his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears, proving he's well and truly over her at this year's 'N Sync Challenge For The Children celeb basketball game.Last year, Justin and Britney showed their affection for each other by having special shirts made for the game with their cutesy pet names for each other emblazoned on the back. Justin's read 'Stinky', and Britney's read 'Pinky'. But just one short year later, Justin showed the world who the most important person in his life is these days: his 2002 shirt for the Orlando, Florida event had the word 'Me' written on the back.
And Justin's not the only one taking pot shots at Britney. His 'N Sync bandmate Joey Fatone was recently spotted wearing a T-shirt bearing the cheeky legend, "Carton of eggs... $3. Ski mask... $14. Tickets to a Britney concert... $54. Egging the **** out of America's Pop Princess... Priceless." Hopefully we can get some pictures of this for you!

Beauty Hurts for Ashanti
Fashion has hurt Ashanti in more ways than one. The sensation is  having to undergo surgery to correct bones criss-crossed by the pointy shoes she loves to wear. The singer is being forced to take a break from her hectic career after the operation because she'll be unable to walk. She says, "I have two bones that are growing out of place because of those shoes that I have to wear. It really hurts. I'm probably going to have a cast and some crutches for at least a couple of months."

Ana Nicole Smith lands on top
Critics have unanimously called E!'s ''The Anna Nicole Show'' an exploitative new low in reality programming -- Entertainment Weekly's Ken Tucker called it a ''human train wreck'' -- for its humiliating footage of the seemingly oblivious and disoriented plus-size bombshell. Audiences apparently agreed, but thought those were the show's positive attributes. As a result, viewers made Sunday's premiere a record-breaking bonanza for E!, drawing the highest ratings for any show in the entertainment channel's history, including its red-carpet awards show coverage. The show drew a 4.1 Nielsen household rating, which corresponds to about 4 million viewers. That makes it the highest-rated debut for a reality show on basic cable and the second highest-rated basic cable series debut ever, behind only the 4.7 rating earned by the premiere of ''The Dead Zone'' on USA earlier this summer. (By comparison, ''The Osbournes'' debuted at 2.8, though the audience blossomed over the next few episodes.) You can catch the show every sunday @ 10:00 PM ET

Christina Aguilera's Dirty
Christina Aguilera is set to make a raunchy comeback with new song Let's Get Dirty. The track, which features a guest appearance by rap star Redman, is expected to surface at some stage next month and her new album should follow in October. Aguilera has collaborated with a variety of artists for her new record including Alicia Keys, Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Dave Navarro, and producers Glen Ballard famous for working with Alanis Morissette and Aerosmith, and Linda Perry who has been involved with Pink and Jennifer Love Hewitt.  Wild Writings is looking for the single so we can give you a sneak peak!

Shakira encounters air turbulence
A helicopter carrying Shakira was forced to make an emergency landing last week on a baseball field in the Dominican Republic. The Colombian singer was traveling to her summer home for a month long vacation when the helicopter she was flying in encountered strong winds and heavy rain and had to make an emergency landing. Authorities did not say who was on board the helicopter besides Shakira. No one was injured.

Eminem's on "Girls Gone Wild!?">>
He's been equally praised and criticized for his wild tone in the studio, at home and on the streets, and now Eminem is involving himself in yet another wild and titillating venture  Slim Shady will be the host of an upcoming "Girls Gone Wild" video. A spokesperson for Eminem's label said that "Girls Gone Wild" is filming during the Anger Management Tour, and a source on the tour said a shrink-wrapped "Girls Gone Wild" bus and film crew have been following Eminem for the past two weeks and will continue to travel with him until the end of the trek. The crew has been shooting Eminem fans removing their tops backstage and on the "Girls Gone Wild" bus. Eminem's been more than an innocent bystander  according to the source, the Detroit MC has been part of the action, and is being filmed talking to the wild girls and doing voiceovers. The resulting video will likely be called "Girls Gone Wild: Eminem" and will be released sometime in 2003, a spokesperson for "Girls Gone Wild"'s parent company, Mantra Entertainment, said. "Girls Gone Wild: Eminem" will be the second artist-assisted video to be released by Mantra Entertainment. "Girls Gone Wild Doggy Style," which features Snoop Dogg with ladies at this year's Mardi Gras in New Orleans, will come out in September.

Nick Lachey takes after Justin & Nick>>
MTV News spoke with 98 Degrees star Nick Lachey on his upcoming solo debut. Nick says he was motivated to go solo when 98 Degrees decided to take an extended hiatus after getting off the road last September. "I think 98 Degrees played it safe with the kinds of songs we recorded, and most of them were romantic love songs," Lachey said. "While there's still a part of me that wants to do some of that, there's also a big part of me that wants to do things that are a little less conventional. I wrote a song the other day called 'Fantasy,' and it's about the world of entertainment and how everyone sees entertainers. The way people interpret their lives is not necessarily the way it is. The hook is, 'I'm fantasy's freak/ Look at me, picture plastered in a magazine.' It's kind of a 'Don't believe everything you read, hear, see' type of thing."  Just to fill you in, Nsync star Justin is going solo [Album next year] BSB star Nick Carter is having a new album next year, and now Nick Lachey from 98 Degrees!

Her name is Kasey Sheridan and she introduced herself to Dream fans saying, "Hey guys! I am so excited to be a new part of DREAM! I am fifteen years old. American Idol in Car Accident>>
More troubles for the folks at 'American Idol', as this time co-host Ryan Seacrest was in a car accident this afternoon near the Sunset Strip area of Los Angeles. His rep tells Entertainment Tonight that Seacrest was uninjured but his Mercedes 500 SL was totaled. Seacrest says he was at a standstill when his car was rear-ended by a truck and pushed into the intersection. Seacrest has no plans on skipping his radio show duties or the one-year anniversary celebration of his show, 'Live from the Lounge,' with guests Sugar Ray.

Madonna steps into the fashion world>>
Madonna seems quite busy these days.. writing songs.. award parties.. and now she's stepping into the fashion world! Madonna, who has always started strange fashion trends & statements, is said to be starting her own clothing line called "Boogie Woogie Baby". And, the funny part is that Madonna got the inspiration to start her own clothing line from her son, Rocco. Madonna says it's so hard these days to get a decent cool fashion statement for a kid!!.. So, she got the inspiration! However, her clothing line won't be any ordinary ones, she is reportedly to launch it through one of her famous designer friends..

Avril's style becomes a trend>>
Looks like not only Britney Spears & Madonna are the trend starters.. Avril Lavigne, who recently brought back the 'punk-girl' style which consists of basically baggy pants & ties.. seems to be a big influence on female teenagers. Avril thinks this is one of the best influences a person could get from music. This is because both Britney & Madonna seem to have gotten the females of all-ages into the bikini-top, tight pants, sleaky clothing, torn fashion, etc.

Shakira`s Love At First Sight>>
Colombian diva SHAKIRA knew her boyfriend was the right man for her from they moment they first saw each other.
The superstar singer forms one half of Latin America's most photographed couples, along with ANTONIO DE LA RUA, the son of FERNANDO DE LA RUA, the deposed former president of Argentina. The pair are so close that Antonio even makes an appearance as Shakira's love interest in the video for "Underneath You Clothes,'' the ballad she wrote for him. And Shakira insists she knew right from the start, when they first encountered each other in a Buenos Aires restaurant, that Antonio, then his country's most eligible bachelor, was perfect for her. She says, "I didn't know who he was, but we kept looking at each other and I walked past his table to the bathroom so much he must have thought something was wrong with me. "But the attraction was immediate. It was love at first sight, for both of us. I didn't know he was exactly, but once we were introduced I knew I had to go back to Argentina quickly. "He's a guy with a big heart, he never lies. That's pretty exotic for me."

Actor Priestley seriously injured>>
SPARTA, Ky. (AP) -- Actor Jason Priestley was seriously injured Sunday when his car crashed head-on into the wall in the final practice for an Infiniti Pro Series race at Kentucky Speedway. The former "Beverly Hills 90210" television star was in serious condition at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington but was stable and responding, Indy Racing League medical director Henry Bock said. The extent of his injuries was not immediately available. Bock said Priestley was undergoing tests at the hospital, where he had been taken by helicopter from the track. "He got sideways and he corrected and then shot off the track," said former Indy 500 winner Arie Luyendyk, whose son, Arie Jr., also competes in the Infiniti series. Luyendyk witnessed the crash from the roof of the press box. "He turned right into the wall, and his first impact was basically head-on," Luyendyk said. "What I'm thinking is, that's really the one big hit that he took that might have hurt him." Priestley's best finish in three starts in the IRL developmental series was second at Kansas Speedway. He qualified second on Saturday behind series leader A.J. Foyt IV. The 32-year-old Priestley has been racing on and off since 1991. He first raced in the California Rally Series in 1991 and the SCCA Pro Rally Series in 1992-95. He drove in the IMSA Firehawk Series and Magna Enduro Series in 1995-99, with his first victory coming at Mid Ohio Sports Car Course in 1998. In 1998-99, he also drove in the Sportscar GTS1 Series. Last year, Priestley completed an alcohol counseling program he was ordered to attend when he pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor DUI charge stemming from a December 1999 car crash in the Hollywood Hills. The accident totaled Priestley's Porsche and broke one of his best friend's arms. Also last season, he was a broadcast analyst for the entire IRL series, and this year joined the Kelley Racing team for the new Infiniti Pro Series, a developmental circuit with open-wheel cars that are similar but smaller and less powerful than the IRL cars. Priestley also crashed a powerboat during a race in Miami in April. A crew member cracked several ribs in the accident, but Priestley was not injured. In 1995, he crashed into a ditch during the Michelin SCCA Pro Rally in Olympia, Wash., but recovered to finish the race. The native of British Columbia qualified Saturday at 179.064 mph on the 1.5-mile track and had a top speed of 178.122 among his eight laps of practice before the crash Sunday morning. Priestley and fellow heartthrob Luke Perry made "Beverly Hills 90210," about a group of young people growing up in Southern California, a hit for the Fox network. Priestley was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards and later produced and directed a number of documentaries, television dramas, cable network specials and music videos. In addition to his television work, Priestley's film credits include "Eye of the Beholder," "Calendar Girl" and "Love and Death on Long Island."

"I was really getting burnt out with what I was doing with Slipknot," Taylor says. "I needed to get back to where I came from -- melodic singing, more stripped-down kind of music -- and this was the perfect time to do it." Stone Sour actually played around Des Moines, Iowa, in the mid-Nineties, but fizzled after Taylor joined Slipknot. During a recent break from a Slipknot tour, Taylor and Rand began writing together again. "Me and Josh have known each other since we were sixteen and we've been writing stuff on four-track for years," Taylor says. "I had just got back from Japan, and he came over with the blueprints of what basically became 'Get Inside.' We just started writing stuff and it started to happen. We ended up writing fourteen songs and going into the studio and doing demos and basically looking at each other and saying, 'Man! You know what? I think we're going to have to put a real band together, because this is just too serious!'" The quintet took March and April to record its self-produced debut, which also includes a handful of tracks from the band's early years. One of these tunes, "Bother," recently appeared on the 'Spider-Man' soundtrack and has since been picked up as an alt-rock radio staple, something which doesn't surprise Taylor. "I've been writing stuff like that for years," he says. "I just haven't shown the world. This was about branching out and doing a whole different type of music. If I had to go right into another Slipknot album, I wouldn't have been happy. I wouldn't have been able to put my whole heart and soul into it, and it would have sucked. So this was basically me showing the world I can do more than just f****** scream and punch myself in the head."

R.Kelly in court again>>
R&B singer R. Kelly, who is charged with 21 counts of child pornography, made his way back to the courthouse in Chicago earlier today for a brief status hearing. Prosecutors have turned over to the defence more than 70 pieces of evidence, including a short stack of videotapes. During the brief hearing Judge Vincent Michael Gaughan also opened a package from Warner Brothers containing a tape of the syndicated TV show called the 'Judge Mathis Show.' Gaughan promised to provide prosecutors and defence lawyers with transcripts. Neither prosecutors nor defence council Edward Genson could explain the tape's relevance after the hearing. Prosecutors say that they have videotape evidence that shows R. Kelly sexually involved with an underage girl. Kelly did not speak during the five-minute hearing. If convicted of the charges against him, Kelly could be sentenced to 15 years in prison and fined $100,000. Kelly remains free on bond. His trial is set to begin on September 20th.

Jennifer Lopez Sued Over Glow Perfume Line>>
Jennifer Lopez is being sued by California-based company Glow Industries, Inc. because of the name of her new perfume, Glow By J. Lo. The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court's Central District of California on Wednesday (August 7), claims Lopez and fragrance company Coty, Inc. engaged in trademark infringement, dilution of trademark, unfair competition, and that they violated the Lanaham Act. Glow Industries, Inc. manufactures fragrances, skin lotions, skin moisturizers, scented mists, soaps, candles, scented oils, and bubble baths under the Glow name and sells them in department stores nationwide. Lopez currently has her J. Lo By Jennifer Lopez clothing line selling in some of the same stores. Meanwhile, Lopez held a huge party on July 3 at Trump World Tower in New York City to celebrate her perfume line and her new collaboration with Coty, Inc.'s Lancaster Group. Lopez intends to launch her Glow By J. Lo fragrance this fall. Coincidently, Glow is also the name of Jennifer's sister Lynda Lopez's beauty-themed program on cable's Style Network.

Kid Rock in new Movie>>
After playing a Trans Am-driving rival of David Spade in Columbia Pictures' "Joe Dirt," Kid Rock is ready to gun it on the big screen again -- this time on two wheels in DreamWorks Pictures' urban motorcycle project "Biker Boyz." Kid Rock is one of the most recent additions to the cast of the Reggie Rock Bythewood-directed project, joining lead Lisa Bonet and supporting players, including Djimon Hounsou, Salli Richardson, Larenz Tate, Terence Howard, Melissa De Sousa, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Rick Gonzalez and Dante and Dion Basco. Previously announced cast members include topliner Laurence Fishburne, Derek Luke, Orlando Jones, Brendan Fehr and Meagan Good. Billed as a contemporary Western on motorcycles, "Biker Boyz" is set in the world of black motorcycle clubs and follows the real-life exploits of Manuel Galloway (Fishburne), a California motorcycle club president known as the King of Cali. He's surrounded by lawyers and city workers who drop their "normal" lives to don leather gear and bet on their bikes. Kid Rock will play Dog, the leader of rival motorcycle club the Deuces, while Bonet stars as Fishburne's love interest, Queenie. The project, penned by Bythewood from an original draft by Craig Fernandez, is based on an article of the same name penned by Michael Gougis and published in April 2000 in the alternative newsweekly New Times Los Angeles. Stephanie Allain and Gina Prince Bythewood are producing along with 3 Arts Entertainment's Erwin Stoff and executive producer Don Kurt. At DreamWorks, the project is being overseen by production executive Leah Keith. Kid Rock is repped by CAA and manager Punch Andrews. Bonet, who most recently starred opposite Will Smith in "Enemy of the State," is repped by Innovative Artists' Craig Shapiro, 3 Arts and the law firm Edelstein, Laird & Sobel.

Jay-Z Vs. Nas>>
Would you pay to see rap rivals Jay-Z and Nas duke it out? Well, you might get that chance very soon with reports of a possible pay-per-view rap contest. Apparently while Jay-Z was on a New York radio show this week ranting about Nas, he threw down a challenge for his arch nemesis. Jay-Z suggested that a pay-per-view event could possibly solve the well documented rivalry between the two rappers. Jay-Z's idea for the televised event is that each party come up with $1 million for a wager and that all the event proceeds would go to a charity chosen by the winner. Nas has yet to comment on the proposed rap off, but legendary boxing promoter Don King was quick to get on the phone and offered to host the event. Nas and Jay-Z's rivalry began when Jay-Z laid into Nas on his 2001 album called 'Blueprint.' The pair have continued to trade insults ever since.

Avril on Britney>>
A lot of magazine and newspaper articles have been reporting Avril Lavigne hates Britney, well she doesn't! Here's what she said in a recent interview to Pittsburgh's radion station B94: "Well, I have mad respect for her. People see me as anti-Britney but I'm not. I don't write songs like she does and I don't dress like she does...I never will. But then again, image comes into play. *high pitched voice* I dress differently, therefore, I hate her. *ends high pitched voice* No, people, I do not hate Britney. People twist things around and want me to hate her. She's done nothing to me. I'd like to meet her and tell her myself that I don't hate her. I'll be the first to admit I know the words to her music. *sings* Hush, just stop! There's nothing you can do or say! babbbby!*stops singing* That's some good stuff."

Madonna on Britney and Christina>>
We all know Madonna loves Britney, now look what she said about both Britney and Christina in a recent interview in Europe: "My feelings towards Britney have been the same since I first saw her and the attention around her, She is such a young girl with an immense amount of talent that has gotten poked and prodded by every media outlet in the world and she has still managed to come out on top. I look at her and see a part of me only better, she has what it takes to make it in the long run and I feel for her. Anything she does I will support 110%, she makes me feel like a proud parent." And comparing Britney to Christina: "The comparison between the two is odd, Christina has a great voice for a singer but thats what she is, She isn't a performer like Britney. Performers and Singers are two different fields, Christina just stands there and sings while Britney dances and performs. They couldn't switch roles. The only thing is that Britney actually is able to just bring down the house regardless of what is said about her, she amazes me to no end"

Gellar Wants to Leave 'Buffy'>>
Sarah Michelle Gellar plans to give up "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer," following the success of her latest movie. The 25-year-old star has played high-kicking, evil-conquering lead character Buffy Summers since the hit TV show began as a midseason replacement in 1997. But she now sees her future on the big screen, owing the box-office success of Scooby-Doo, which, you'll recall, has a talking dog in it.She says, "It's important for me to go out on top. I don't want to be part of a show that runs eight years only to have people say of it, 'That should have ended years ago.'"The producers of the show are now working on ways to continue the series, which will otherwise end after its seventh run. And Gellar, who has reportedly been turning down "a string of top movie roles due to the time-consuming constraints of the Buffy schedule."

Christina Aguilera album details>>
While Britney Spears is "not a girl, not yet a woman," Christina Aguilera is of legal age and ready to get down 'n' dirty. In mid-September, Aguilera will drop "Dirty," the first single from her still-untitled fourth record, which is now scheduled for release in late October. The song was produced and written by Aguilera and Rockwilder (who co-produced last year's hit remake of "Lady Marmalade") and features rapping by Redman, a publicist said. At the end of the month, the brazen pop songstress will shoot a video for the track in Los Angeles with "Lady Marmalade" director Paul Hunter, who has also worked with Eminem, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey and Lenny Kravitz. Aguilera's label said that Redman will appear in the clip but would not reveal any additional details.  Aguilera worked with a host of writers and producers on her upcoming record, including Glen Ballard (Alanis Morissette), Linda Perry from 4 Non Blondes (Pink), Eminem accomplice Scott Scorch, Eve, Dave Navarro and Alicia Keys, who co-wrote and co-produced the song "Impossible" Aguilera wrote or co-wrote nearly every song on the album.  "I was very impressed by the fact that she has taken the role of being a writer quite seriously and really applied a lot of effort and class in drawing from her own inspiration," Ballard said of Aguilera. "I think she's a wonderful writer. We already know she's a great singer, but I think we'll be able to add to that. She's a really incredible writer." Aguilera worked on the album, which is the proper follow-up to her 1999 self-titled debut, at various studios, including Electric Lady in New York and Conway in Los Angeles. She's currently narrowing down the disc from 20 songs to a more manageable number. Leftover tracks will likely appear on B-sides and soundtracks, one of her representatives said. Other song titles may include "Beautiful," "Fighter," "Infatuation" and "Can't Hold Us Down," a rousing track inspired by the verbal abuse she has received from Eminem and Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst.
-- We have Christina's track, " Fighter" and will be adding it to the media section in a few days!

Britney and Justin Danceoff>>
I don't know how true this can be, but I have seen this article everywhere, so here it is!
US Weekly reports Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears ran into each other on August 1st for the first time since their March split, and the meeting ended in an argument and dance-off at the Lounge in Los Angeles. Britney walked into the club only to see her ex *NSYNC boyfriend dancing with girlfriend Jenna Dewan. Britney "watched them like crazy," says a spy. Britney confronted Timberlake when he got up to get drinks. When Spears asked him if the two could talk, Justin said, "'If it's about us getting back together, forget it." Britney then started complaining about how Timberlake has been "using different women for media attention." Justin fired back about "'her cheating, and they got into a huge argument." When the dust settled, the two went to the dance floor "and started a dance-off." The drama lasted about 90 minutes until Justin left at 2 a.m... without Britney.

Posh will have a baby girl>>
Brooklyn Beckham has revealed that he is going to have a sister and she is to be named Paris, according to reports. The toddler son of Britain's most famous celebrity couple spilt the beans to surprised staff during a visit to a Mothercare shop in Cheshunt. Previously the couple have denied knowing the sex of their child but the Daily Express reported Brooklyn as saying: "My mummy said I'm going to have a sister called Paris." The son of football star David Beckham and Posh Spice was on an outing with his aunt and cousin when he let the secret slip. A witness said: "He was sure and a few people overheard. We were surprised, children his age don't make up that kind of stuff. I doubt Brooklyn knows what Paris is." Brooklyn was named after the New York district where his parents were staying when they learned Victoria was pregnant. Their latest pregnancy was announced in February - but the couple were not staying in Paris at the time. But a spokesman for the Beckhams cast doubt on Brooklyn's revelations, saying: "Victoria and David don't know the sex of the child. Brooklyn couldn't possibly know."

Dream Street Lawsuit Thrown Out Of Court>>
A lawsuit by the mother's of the members of boyband Dream Street was thrown out of court after a Manhattan judge believed it was nothing more than a sham. They were charging the creators of Dream Street, including Lou Pearlman, with scamming their sons out of money. As well, they accused producers Brian Lukow and Louie Baldonieri of encouraging their sons to partake in sex, drugs and alcohol, the New York Post reports.  Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Diane Lebedeff ruled that they were merely trying to get out of their contract, and the accusations in the lawsuit "show all the signs of a creative attempt to avoid contractual obligation."

Joey Fatone's Broadway Debut Earns Raves From 'Rent'-Heads>>
Nsync fans and Rent-Heads seem like they come from two different worlds, but if Joey Fatone's first week on Broadway is any indication, those worlds are in sync. On August 5, the curtain rose on Fatone's debut in the Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning musical "Rent," in which the pop star stepped into the lead role of Mark Cohen, the struggling documentary filmmaker who acts as the narrator and moral conscience of a group of New York City 20-somethings. While "Rent" has been running on Broadway for six years, this was the first time that a music star had taken a role. "A lot of people in the industry do understand that Broadway is a very hard thing to do, because we're doing eight shows a week," Fatone said on Thursday prior to curtain call at the Nederlander Theatre. "Not many stars or artists or singers do a lot of shows. Maybe when they first start out, you know, every artist that's starting out tries to do a lot of shows. But we do eight shows a week, and it's kinda tough." Opening night, Fatone said, was the toughest show of all. Not because of all the pent-up expectations  many Rent-Heads expected him to fail, or at least believed he wouldn't be up to snuff  but because it was a lifelong dream come true. "I was a little nervous, obviously, and the adrenaline was rushing," he said. "It was very exciting to be doing it. My parents didn't even tell me they were coming. And I slipped up a little on some lines here and there, but it was all right. I'm sure I'll probably mess up again. You do brain freezes, or you zone out sometimes, but we'll see what happens." Thursday night's sell-out crowd attracted a mix of obsessive "Rent" fans  some of whom had seen the musical upwards of 50 times  and rabid Nsync fans making their first foray into theater. Many of the fans questioned, some of whom had traveled as far as from Dallas and Detroit to see the show, were attending for the second time that week, and had seen Fatone's debut on Monday. The overall response? Fairly positive.

Berry's character then leaves her trade to join married life with her boyfriend. But when a killer tracks her last client, she returns back to helping people.

The Beatles Are Back>>
Plans are afoot for The Beatles to release an album marking the 40th anniversary of their first hit single, according to reports. The as-yet-untitled compilation is to be billed as the ultimate Beatles collection, featuring up to 50 tracks, claims a UK tabloid.
The release, which was apparently discussed at Abbey Road studious recently, would coincide with the release of 'Love Me Do', which went into the charts in October 1962. In 2000, '1', a collection of the band's number one hits, became the fastest selling album of all time.

Simon Cowell Weighs In On TRL Artists>>
The 'American Idol' judges stopped by to critique the artists on MTV"s Total Request Live on Monday. Simon started it off by making a nasty remark about Shakira's 'Objection (Tango)' saying, "Right, that sounds like Ricky Martin with a high voice. Out of 10 we'll give the song 2." Later, Simon was asked who doesn't really cut it on the TRL countdown. "Vanessa carlton for being totally miserable," he said. "Cheer up! You know, it's a lovely day, sunny, you live in America, be happy!" As for Britney Spears and her 'Boys' remix, Simon blasted, "Okay. That was, uhm, Britney Spears with an absolutely apalling song. Britney, go back to the school uniform. Go back to Max Martin and write some decent songs 'cause that song is terrible. Terrible!" It wasn't all negative remarks from Cowell though as he commented about Avril Lavigne, "I really like her. You know what she's real! Really makes a change."

Vanessa Carlton checked in on her official forum Saturday from the latest stop on her tour with the Goo Goo Dolls. "Everything is amazing. The Goos are such good guys. I just did the Buffalo show. It was pretty rockin'. I've been gettin onstage with Johnny and the boys at the end of the night being the badass rockstar that I am. Heehee. Fyi, the bus caught on fire two days ago. Everything kinda smells like ass. I'm also convinced that the reason I've been sleeping 14hrs. every night is because I've been inhaling engine fumes through my ac vent. Great. Fashion Police Bust Mariah Carey>>
"In the last few years, she's started looking and acting too provocatively," says a source. "She wasn't doing herself any favors. She shouldn't try to look like Britney Spears. She has her voice going for her. They've told Mariah to re-think her image."  And Lyor Cohen, president of Island Def Jam records, recently told the Financial Times that he advised Carey: "If you have this magnificent voice and you write such compelling songs, why are you dressing like that, why are you using all these collaborations [with other artists and other songwriters]? Why? It's like driving a Ferrari in first  you won't see what that Ferrari will do until you get into sixth gear." Says the source: "Mariah's not going to start wearing a potato sack, but [Cohen's] advice really hit home." Mariah's spokeswoman says the singer is unavailable for comment, but adds that "she trusts Lyor and his team." Mariah's new single is hitting radio in late September

About 15,000 people were sent home early from a rap and hip-hop concert after a fight broke out and spilled onto the main stage, police said. The Beat Summer Jam 2002 concert at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre started at about noon Sunday and ended after the brawl erupted about 7:30 p.m., said Lieut. Three people suffered minor injuries and one person was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, officials said.
No arrests were made as a result of the fight.
The concert had about 30 minutes left when it was cancelled, Muir said.
LL Cool J performed at the event and rapper Nelly also was scheduled to appear.

Knowles claims that the rumor was true at the time but now, Law has since dropped out of the project.

Nelly Does Nude Photo Shoot with Playboy>>
Playboy has taken Nelly's lyrics in "Hot In Herre" that urge female partygoers to "take off all your clothes" literally. The website for the leading gentlemen's magazine conducted a photo shoot with Nelly and one of its nude models on August 7 in a studio in Santa Monica, California. The photos are for pictorial for the site. "My experience as far as like me taking the pictures for Playboy, being one of the few artists to do it...no I really wasn't nervous. I'm pretty much around girls a lot. She was well already a professional, and the whole thing as well. She wasn't nervous at all about the whole thing. She pretty much made it a lot easier for me to do, to do my job with the camera thing. So, it was cool. It was cool. It was cool. I think after a while, you kinda got the swing of it. At first it's probably like a little, 'OK, what do I do. Am I doing it right? Am I doing it cool? But after a while, it just started flowing man." While Nelly did not have to disrobe for the adult pics, he added that he was excited when he found out about the shoot. "I was like, 'Naw.' Naw. I'm just playing. Naw, I was just like, 'Yeah. Of course. Clear the schedule.' It was fun. It was fun. It was an experience, definitely." "Hot In Herre" slipped from Number One this week on the Billboard Hot 100 chart to Number Two, with Nelly's other single, "Dilemma," with Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child taking the top slot. Nelly's sophomore album Nellyville has sold nearly 2.5 million copies since its June release.

Mya Finished Up New Album>>
G-funk, drag queens, reggae and a little bit of pop-rock  Mya has the blueprint for making an album, all she had to do was take her time.  "Wrapping it up now," Mya said last week in Los Angeles. "I haven't been really consistent [with recording]. I've been in and out of the studio, so shoot, I'm using some records I did maybe two years ago. I been in the studio every chance I get for the fun of it, and I realized, 'Hey, I need to start recording an album.' After that I pretty much realized I had 20 songs in my pocket.  "It wasn't a forced issue," she added. "We didn't set a time and say we need to shut down everything  no more this, no more that  we're gonna focus on the album. I asked people for tracks, I'd vibe on them, write to them. When they came out as great records and the record company liked them, we polished them. That's what happened. Everything was up in the air, all over the place."

OTown Excited About Their New Album>>

Looks like not only Britney Spears & Madonna are the trend starters.. Avril Lavigne, who recently brought back the 'punk-girl' style which consists of basically baggy pants & ties.. seems to be a big influence on female teenagers. This is because both Britney & Madonna seem to have gotten the females of all-ages into the bikini-top, tight pants, sleaky clothing, torn fashion, etc.

Eminem Ruffles C-Span>>
Not everyone is happy to be part of the Eminem show.  News footage from C-Span, which televises sessions in Congress, is being used by the rapper on his Anger Management tour. In one clip, Lynne Cheney, wife of Vice-President Dick Cheney, calls Em "despicable ... a horrible and violent misogynist."  Network officials tried to put a stop to the usage of the clips and were miffed when they found out that Em's camp had secured the proper rights. Apparently, a production company called Switch Technologies had filed the request, without divulging to C-Span that they were securing the clips for Eminem.  "When we learned that (Switch Technologies) was a subcontractor for Eminem, we told them we didn't appreciate the nondisclosure or apparent deception," Mark Millar, a lawyer for C-Span, told nme.com.  The Anger Management Tour rolls into America West Arena in Phoenix Tuesday

Yeah!>>
Well I was just deleting some programs off my computer when I came across some Java program - risking the chance of losing important programs, I deleted it.  LOL, But it turned out that was the new program that was causing all these problems! So i'm off and I will have a larger than life update later today. Check back in a few hours. If you don't hear from me, I spoke too soon.

The Mole III: CELEBRITIES!>>
Turns out a nine-month vacation was just what the doctor ordered. When the second season of ABC's ''The Mole'' debuted last fall, an audience that suddenly didn't find anything amusing about a show with a secret saboteur ignored it in droves, and the low-rated show was shelved until this summer. But the revived show has been a big enough hit to ensure a third season, Variety reports. Bowing to reality-show inevitability, there will also be a celebrity edition. In fact, Variety reports, the celebrity edition has been easier to get off the ground than the civilian one. ABC has greenlit a six-week January or March run for an abbreviated competition (filmed over seven to 10 days), in which one star would secretly undermine the others while feigning cooperation. (In other words, just like business as usual in Hollywood.) Winnings will go to charities of the stars' choices.  The deal with ''Mole'' producer Stone Stanley Entertainment is not yet firm for the standard edition. That would cover a nine-week competition among ordinary unknowns to air next summer. It's also not clear whether host-turned-CNN correspondent Anderson Cooper will be back. Maybe ABC can get its old ''Wonder Years'' star Fred Savage to take the job; he's already proven himself as a mole in ''Austin Powers in Goldmember.''

Martha Stewart will keep show>>
As Martha Stewart famously said when ''The Early Show'''s Jane Clayson pressed her a few weeks ago for details on her controversial stock trading, ''I want to focus on my salad.'' In fact, while she's been absent from her regular visits to the CBS morning show ever since, she's still been able to focus on her salad (and other household projects) on the syndicated ''Martha Stewart Living.'' There was some speculation as to whether her stock scandal would creep into the daytime series, in the form of advertiser defections or decreased ratings, but that hasn't happened. Still, there were indications this week that the scandal is catching up with ''Living.'' According to the Hollywood Reporter, syndicator King World has ended some of the speculation by renewing ''Living'' for a 10th season. However, King World has also announced a new daytime show for fall 2003 called ''Living It Up,'' a morning chatfest featuring former ABC News correspondent Jack Ford and comic actress Alexandra Wentworth (the wife of Clinton aide-turned-ABC ''This Week'' host George Stephanopoulos), who's best known for her sketch comedy stint on ''In Living Color'' and for her role as Jerry's ''shmoopy'' girlfriend in the classic ''Soup Nazi'' episode of ''Seinfeld.'' According to the Reporter, ''Living it Up'' has already been picked up by two of Stewart's flagship stations, the CBS outlets in New York and Los Angeles. It will go out on a live feed from WCBS in New York at 9 a.m., the time Stewart's taped show airs on the East Coast.

Survivor 5: A pinch of porn>>
If you think you've seen ''Survivor: Thailand'' contestant Brian Heidik before, you may be recognizing the California actor-turned-used car salesman from his recurring role as Tim Rollins on ''Days of Our Lives,'' or from his guest spots on ''Baywatch Nights'' and ''Doogie Howser, M.D.'' Or maybe you just watch a lot of late-night softcore porn on Cinemax or the Playboy Channel. Turns out Heidik has racked up a number of credits (some under his own name, some under ''Dave Roth'' and other pseudonyms) in movies with titles like ''Sinful Obsession,'' ''Passion's Obsession,'' and ''Virgins of Sherwood Forest.''
Unlike some of the other reality show participants (including several ''Big Brother'' housemates this year and last year) who have made it past CBS' contestant screening process, Heidik's secret past wasn't illegal, just embarrassing. Embarrassing enough to be left out of his official bio, at least, on the ''Survivor'' website. There, the 34-year-old's TV work is noted, along with the fact that he has a wife named C.C. and a son named Logan. What's not mentioned is that his wife is C.C. Costigan, also a soft-core performer and late-night Cinemax regular.

Hewitt Denies Celebrity Romances>>
Jennifer Love Hewitt insists her reported romance with Alec Baldwin was completely blown out of proportion - she was actually trying to help him be a better dad.  The actress admits Baldwin turned to her during his marriage split from Kim Basinger last year - because he wanted to make sure a divorce wouldn't effect his daughter Ireland too badly. Hewitt reveals, "His main thing was wanting to remain a good dad, and he looked at me as somebody who had been through what his daughter was going to go through." "He would say to me, 'What can I do to not screw this up and have her feel bad?' I took that as, 'Oh my God, I have the chance - when maybe my dad didn't handle the situation the right way - to fix it now for someone else.'" The actress also insists that her alleged romance with pal Enrique Iglesias was way off the mark. She adds, "We've been friends for a really long time. I don't think Enrique would ever go out with me. I'm too big of a dork."

Mandy Moore Defends Cover Shoot>>
Mandy Moore has come under mild criticism for wearing a revealing black dress on the cover of next month's issue of the music magazine Blender. The mag features a range of different covers and has articles on eight "sexy, young and talented" singers, including Mandy, Michelle Branch and Vanessa Carlton. Mandy, however, insists she hasn't changed her image. She says, "Man, things like this make me kinda say, 'Oh give it up!' First of all, Blender is not a men's magazine. It doesn't say anything about it being so on the cover. So, it's owned by the same people who run Maxim... big deal. The same photographer who shot my picture in People mag's '50 Most Beautiful' shot these photos." "I am not going to justify me doing the shoot, because I don't feel I need to. I happen to really like the pictures. So the dress is a bit shorter that anything I have been photographed in before. It's not like I am in some cut-off belly baring shirt and booty shorts. "Just look at the headshot inside. How is that overly sexy? Guys, you're going to have to trust me a bit more. If I say I'm not comfy posing in such and such, I am not going to. Period. I am not contradicting myself at all. No one makes me wear anything I don't want to. I choose to wear it because I liked it. It's something I would wear out on a night on the town."

Avril Dresses Up Hall of Fame>>
There's nothing complicated about this special honor. The clothes Avril Lavigne wore in her video "Complicated" will be displayed in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland. The funky outfit -- white tank top, necktie and baggy bottoms -- will be shown in a section of the museum called On the Charts, along with other items belonging to today's hottest music artists. Avril is reportedly overwhelmed by the honor. "I think that's ridiculous, because I've had one single out and I'm like this new kid in this music scene," the Canadian sensation told MTV. "OK, I think it's funny, but at the same time, I'm like, 'Hell yeah, I'll give you my clothes!'" Avril Lavigne's album "Let Go" is currently heating up the charts. She is also nominated for a Best New Artist MTV Video Music Award.

Big Winners at Teen Choice Awards>>
They may not have won anything, but for some of the stars attending the Teen Choice Awards the goody bag they received was well worth the appearance.  Besides walking away with a new Sprint LG mobile phone, a Wilson leather bag, Steve Madden sandals and a Hello Kitty coin purse, toaster and jeweled CD holder, FWD reports some celebs, like sassy rapper Eve , went ga-ga for the Girlfriend's Night Out "My Lash" jeweled fake eyelashes. Meanwhile the boys from BBMak couldn't wait to wear their new Johnny and Tawnee leather bracelets for the live performance of their new hit single "Out of My Head." Rock siblings Kelly and Jack Osbourne had a field day with the Neutrogena skin care products they received, while "Buffy" cast members, Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy) and Alyson Hannigan (Willow), were "slayed" by The hot Jenstone personalized Swarovski crystal belt buckles also included in the goody bags. If this sounds like a groovy bag you'd like to get your hands on, log on to hollywoodcharities.com where you can bid on the same goodies for a great cause. All proceeds for the auction go to TEENS4ACURE, benefitting the National Children's Leukemia Society.

Beyonce Knowles has fallen for rap star Jay-Z>>
Destiny's Child babe Beyonce Knowles has fallen for rap star Jay-Z. The pair were seen smooching at New York's trendy Nobu restaurant, confirming rumours they are an item. The Goldmember star was also seen leaving a gym after a workout with Jay-Z.

Murder Inc. & Irv Gotti Want Shyne>>
Can Murder Inc. Records and Irv Gotti take over the rap game more than they already have? Everybody sit back cause I think Irv Gotti is working to make the "INC" the number one record label. According to MTV, Irv Gotti is hoping to get Shyne signed to his record label. I mean of course Shyne is still under Bad Boy contract but he is also serving a ten-year prison sentence. Apparently the possibility of trying to sign Shyne to Murder Inc. was brought to Gotti through Nas, the newest member of the murderous click. Shyne and his lawyer Murray Richman are currently going through all possible legal avenue's to get him released. Irv Gotti, Ja Rule and Nas will all be meeting with the Belize native at Riker's Island very soon. "Next Monday, I'm going to Rikers Island to have a sit-down with Shyne," Gotti said to MTV. "If there's any way that the guy can get an appeal, if he wants me involved, I would love to help him. I would love to get him out, and I would love to have him on Murder Inc. Nas actually has pioneered this, because he was like, 'We need to get some "Free Shyne" T-shirts.' Nas just got it in my mind hard. Nas is a boss, and if he is like, 'Shyne would make a great addition,' I'm gonna try to make it happen." Though Irv it keeping hope alive to sign Shyne, he is still under contract with the original Bad Boy himself P.Diddy.

"Spider-Man 2">>
James Franco recently told Sci-Fi Wire that his character of Harry Osborn may go dark in "Spider-Man 2." While it is known that the new Green Goblin will not show up in the sequel, it definitely sets things up for the third "Spider-Man" film. "All I can say is the first film was pretty loyal to the storyline in the comic book, and I assume that the second will be, and that Harry does take a turn for the dark side," Franco said in an interview. "Maybe that'll be developed in the second one. I don't know the specifics." Franco also revealed that he would like to use his narcotics research from "City By The Sea" in the sequel. "There were three episodes of Spider-Man that were banned by the comic board, where Harry indulges in some form of narcotic," he said. "It didn't specify, but I think it was during the '60s or '70s, and it looked a little like LSD. That might happen in the second one."  Do you want to see Spider-Man II? Vote on our poll!

Michael Jackson: A new Father!>>
It seems Michael Jackson should have held a press conference for his new announcement, since people received the information anyway: Jackson is a proud papa to a third child! "The baby is six months old. It's a little boy. Michael brought him to Las Vegas and he was showing him around behind-the-scenes at the Siegfried and Roy show. He introduced him around as "Prince Michael II." He's also been heard, oddly enough, referring to him as 'Blanket.'" No word yet on who the mother is, and if the baby was adopted.

Here Christina comes>>
Christina Aguilera's in town (LA) for photo shoots, gearing up to finally unveil "her baby." That's how record industry insiders are referring to the singer's much-anticipated album, on which she's staking her transition from pop princess to artist-in-command. We can tell you the first single, "Dirrty," featuring hip-hop star Redman, will show up next month along with a "Dirrty" video directed by Paul Hunter. The song is described as having a very urban feel. The still-untitled RCA album now has an Oct. 29 release date -- and you can be sure the firecracker talent will be making the talk- and music show rounds, in addition to getting cover girl treatment. Christina wrote and co-produced much of the album (which was originally anticipated in June), working with the very hot producer Rockwilder.

$22m for "xXx 3"? >>
It has already been announced that Sony's serious about "xXx 2," with the first one looking to take in roughly $150 million with Vin Diesel and director Rob Cohen set to return. But a third one? Yes. The site reports that Diesel is expected to take in a $22 million dollar paycheck, along with 3% of box-office receipts. Do you want to see XXX II? Vote on our poll!

*NSYNC Were Told To Dump Lance Bass>>
Radio 1 reports that Joey Fatone has revealed radio bosses wanted *NSYNC to dump Lance Bass from the group if they wanted to make it big. "It happened when we first started. We were doing a showcase for a record company and they basically said Lance doesn't need to be in the group, we need to get someone else in the group," he said. "And we were like, no! People have told us it was never going to work, other groups are already out there..."

American Idol>>
Well, I'm alittle sad - Tamyra, one of the more talented contestants on American Idol was voted off last night. The top 3 are now Kelly, Justin, and Nikki. Next Tuesday the contestants will sing two songs each, and on the 28th of August one will leave. The top two will go on tour, visit MTV's VMA's and then the top voted singer will become the 'American Idol.' Although your favorite might of left the show, the top 8 contestants have been offered movie/music/modeling deals - so it's not that bad! The top singer will be signed to BMG.

Ashanti's Petition>>
This is one of the biggest stories of the summer, and it is VERY interesting....
Ashanti's had a remarkably successful year, but is the newcomer worthy of ''Soul Train'''s top honor, the ''Aretha Franklin Entertainer of the Year Award,'' which she is to receive at the show's eighth annual Lady of Soul Awards on Aug. 24? More than 20,000 people think not, according to an online petition started by a teen who says ''Soul Train'' has flamed him venomously as a result. Rommel Zamora, a 15-year-old high school sophomore from California, started the signature drive at Petition Online on July 31 because ''I was bored and I had nothing to do,'' he tells E! He wrote on the petition that he thought the 21-year-old Ashanti lacked ''singing ability and stage presence,'' and that to give her the award was an insult to Franklin and to worthier candidates, including Faith Evans, Alicia Keys, India.Arie, or Aaliyah. Zamora's own website contains what he says is a screen shot of a rebuttal that ''Soul Train'' posted on its own website, singling out ''white-owned'' BET.com for condemnation for linking to the petition, which the posting said might be more accurately named, ''I'm a f---ing loser, I'm not talented or successful, I don't know s--- about the music industry and I need to get a motherf---ing life!!'' If ''Soul Train'' did post such a rant, it's not there any longer, though the show's website does contain a statement that expresses outrage over ''the fact that a people, whose ancestry suffered 400 years of slavery, can be herded so easily into a virtually bottomless mud hole and be taught to sling such mud therein'' at an undeserving target.

Lowdown on Britney>>
People Magazine droped a bombshell: Britney Spears finally talked about her parents, Justin Timberlake and the breakup. People Magazine's Todd Gold, who went one-on-one with Spears, talked to Access Hollywood about the exclusive interview. "She came right out and said she doesn't know if she'll ever love anyone as much as she loved Justin," said Gold. It was honest admissions and candid conversation in the exclusive interview. Britney said it was her turn to talk. "Britney reveals for the first time that this breakup was a saga. First, Justin broke up with her and then they tried to reconcile. Then she broke up with him. She said that was the hardest part, making that decision, making that declaration to Justin that this was not going to be any longer." It's been five months since their split, but they have remained close. "She also revealed that they tried to get back together and it didn't work out. They remain friends, they still talk, they have bumped into each other and have been cordial, but it's no longer a romance." The romance of Britney's parents also ended this year. They divorced after 30 years of marriage. "The tabloids had Britney devastated by the divorce -- the truth is that she's not. She is pleased it's happening and it's official, that her parents fought when she was little and they are much better off apart." These days Britney is taking a much-deserved break from her work, leaving her time to have fun with friends and do a little star-searching. "A week or two ago she and a friend bought a map to celebrity homes and they drove over to Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston's mansion and parked outside. Britney got out of her car to try and look over the gate and Brad started driving out of the driveway. It took her by surprise and she fell, but she scrambled back in the car before he could see her. She said, 'I felt like the biggest dumbass ever.'" Britney also wants the world to know that she is growing up. She turns 21 this December, and the "sugar and spice" Britney is out and the "fire and ice" Britney is in. "She's no longer trying to pretend that she doesn't drink, that she's not interested in guys," Gold told Access. But she's still not ready to reveal everything. "She says, 'Look, I'm not going to hold a press conference to announce I've lost my virginity.'

Pink Vs. Britney>>
WENN reports Pink has made some unkind remarks about pop rival Britney Spears. "To me, she represents puppets on a string and lip-synching," Pink said. "She's very sweet to me, either she's completely terrified or she just gets it. I don't think she hates me. If she does, she's very good at faking it."

Destiny's Child star joins "Freddy vs. Jason">>
MTV reveals that Destiny Child's star Kelly Rowland has joined the cast of "Freddy vs. Jason," which begins shooting in September in Vancouver. In addition, the music channel also talked to Robert Englund about the project. "The plot is really ingenious, how they bring the two together," Englund said. "Freddy needs Jason. He manipulates him, and then it all starts to fray at the edge."The project has undergone several rewrites but Englund believes that the story has been solidified. "I'm expecting Federal Express at any moment to come to my house and throw a new [slightly modified script] hot off the presses down," Englund said. "But my [current] script dates back to July and boy, it's a good script. It has the one thing that I felt it had to have  we have to get into Jason's nightmares. Whatever's going on, whatever remains of his synapse and psyche, we have to get into that. And they really exploit that in this. There's also a wonderful set piece at a rave that's just an amazing, amazing sequence."Finally, Englund also talked about not having Kane Hodder in the film as Jason Vorhees, who has played the killing machine during the past several films. "Kane is a friend of mine and it makes this difficult," Englund said. "'Cause I think of Kane as Jason. Nobody does the killing machine like Kane. The only thing I know is, they're looking at people. ... One of the things that may be in the rewrites is that there may be a sequence in a flashback, we may see Jason young. Given that, they may be forced to hire somebody younger."
"Spider-Man" & "Men in Black II": Two for the price of one>>
Reports are starting that on September 9, Sony/Columbia Pictures will offer moviegoers a two-for-one deal: They can see "Spider-Man" and "Men in Black II" for the price of one. Both summer films have been highly successful and should the deal happen, would earn the studio much more money.

3LW Become 2LW: Naturi Says She's Out Of Group>>
It seems that three little women are now down to two.  On Wednesday (August 21), 3LW's Naturi Naughton, with her lawyer in tow, told New York City radio jock Wendy Williams that she has been forced out of the group. With just over one month to go before the release of the trio's second album, A Girl Can Mack a number of canceled appearances had fueled rumors of discord between Naughton and the other members, Kiely Williams and Adrienne Bailon.  Naughton said she had received repeated complaints about her performance, her image and her loyalty to the group from 3LW's management, which, coincidentally, is run by Kiely's legal guardian, Michelle Williams  no relation to the Destiny's Child member.  Naturi, 18, said that the dealbreaker (or triobreaker, as it were) came when Kiely threw a plate of food into her face after a particularly heated argument in South Carolina, prompting her to immediately fly back to her hometown in New Jersey.  At press time, there is no official response from the remaining two-thirds of 3LW. Naughton claimed that an understudy has already been training to replace her.  The group's label, Epic Records, and their road manager declined to comment.

She also stopped by at "LaSsure Perfection" for a manicure and pedicure. She was reportedly very nice to fans who walked up to her and asked for her autograph. She even posed for pictures several times.

Britney Spears' Life Is At A Crossroads>>
The Sun's Dominic Mohan says Britney Spears' life is at a crossroads, but he says Spears can make the moves to ensure she doesn't end up like Debbie Gibson or Tiffany. "She must rejuvenate herself," Mohan said. "Find another 'Baby One More Time' and truly decide whether she wants to try to oust Madonna as Queen Of Pop. The demons of Justin must finally be put to rest, fitness regained and the partying restricted. The entourage must be dumped and the fans' love rekindled."

Avril Lavigne Searches Are Huge In July>>
Searches for Avril Lavigne continue to soar on pay-per search engine Overture.com in the month of July. The singer received 416,877 searches for 'Avril Lavigne' and a ton of misspellings. The Canadian teen's most popular tune was 'Complicated', and most impressively, there were nearly 42,000 searches for her lyrics, and only 6,590 for pictures of her nude. Britney Pranked>>
Maybe she's not that innocent, but Britney Spears was apparently gullible enough to be fooled by a phone call from a Montreal DJ named Marc Audette, who told the singer he was Celine Dion. Reuters reports that Audette and Sebastien Trudel, radio comics known in Quebec as the Masked Avengers, made Spears the latest celebrity victim of their practical jokes. When Audette reached Spears earlier this month, he impersonated Dion and chatted with her about each woman's charitable foundations. They also talked family; Spears asked after the health of Dion's baby, and Audette said, ''Rene-Charles is exactly like his father, he has no hair. He really is a great baby. Having a baby change a woman a lot.'' Spears replied, ''Right, right. I would totally love that.''The faux Dion invited Spears to visit her club in Montreal, actually naming a notorious strip joint. ''We certainly won't be distracted there," Audette said. "Of course, Boy George won't be invited, just to be sure.''The point of the invitation was a charity event, which the ersatz Celine said was to feature numerous celebrities. ''Tiger Woods, one of my personal friends, just promised me he's going to sing a very special song in duo with you and it's going to be called 'Let's Make a Hole in One,''' Audette told Spears. She replied, ''Oh, I would so be interested, oh my goodness, definitely. When do you all want to do it?''Discussing the prank later with Reuters, Audette called Spears a good sport. ''She first had a little bit of an aggressive reaction but then she was laughing,'' said Audette, who had pulled similar pranks on Bill Gates and various Canadian celebs. ''She didn't even think it was a gag. I don't know why. I think she was so impressed to speak to Celine Dion.''

Michael Jackson Has Beautiful 'Fair-Skinned Baby'>>
Access Hollywood spoke to Michael Jackson's close friend and confidant, Gary Pudney about news of Jacko's latest child, Prince Michael II. "The baby is absolutely beautiful, a fair-skinned baby, got lots of curly dark brown hair and very sweet, very beautiful baby," he said. Pudney said it was possible that Debbie Rowe, the mother of Jackson's first two children is the latest child's mother adding, "Although they're divorced, they see each other and she sees the children. I think they were recently in Las Vegas at the Siegfried and Roy show, actually."

American Idol: Tamyra>>
Tamyra Gray says she knew she was going to be voted off ''American Idol'' in last week's upset. Knew in her gut, at least. She told USA Today that last week was the first time she felt that her run on the show was over. ''I felt like it was my time to go home,'' she said. ''But I was OK with that. I've had a great experience.'' Gray shot down rumors that the telephone voting system, which producers have acknowledged is vulnerable to power-dialing hackers, is rigged, or that race was a factor in her ouster. ''Everybody has their opinion, but the only thing I will say is that everything is legit.'' Gray said. ''My performance Tuesday night wasn't the best, so everybody [probably] voted on the performances that night.'' Still, as Simon Cowell said, ''Watch this space.'' Even though she didn't win, Tamyra will be the first of the 10 finalists to have a recording contract of her own. 19 Productions has an option to sign each of the 10 finalists; it will release an album around Thanksgiving that includes performances by all of them, and the company will, of course, sign the eventual winner. However, 19 has already decided to exercise its option to sign Gray. ''This girl is a star,'' 19's Tom Ellis told USA Today. ''She has a very bright future.'' Gray said, ''Hopefully, sometime next year, maybe I'll have an album out.'' ''Idol'''s Wednesday results episode will be expanded to an hour this week, and will feature detailed profiles and judges' assessments of each of the three remaining finalists, one of whom, of course, will be booted out by the end of the hour. The winner will be announced Sept. 4.

Eminem hugs Christina: backstage at the VMA's>>
MTV.com: Onstage at the MTV Video Music Awards, you'll see the celebs playing it calm like it's no big deal to present an award alongside one of their peers or to look into the crowd and see a sea of people staring back. But backstage it's a whole different story: The stars aren't afraid to admit that they are fans. Even Eminem loosened up a bit. The night's big winner  may have let Slim Shady come out onstage, threatening to punch Moby while accepting the Best Male Video honor, but backstage he was just plain ol' Marshall Mathers, seemingly squashing any beef he had with another person he blasted on wax. Walking out of sight of the audience and cameras, Eminem was engaging in a spirited conversation with award presenter Christina Aguilera that at initial glance could have easily been construed as an argument. However, once the rapper said his peace and Christina voiced on her opinions, Em, who was nodding his head and looked to be agreeing with the singer, opened his arms just as she was about to walk away and the two actually briefly embraced. "Now that's an MTV moment," exclaimed an applauding Brandy. Earlier, Aguilera sat in a dressing room along with Brandy as they both got their makeup done. Before Aguilera went out in front of the crowd at Radio City, she was more concerned with making jokes with her friend and sending messages on her 2way pager than exchanging pleasantries with Usher, who was standing at arm's length. Usher had some fun later on with Jennifer Lopez, however.

Triumph The Insult comic dog on Britney and Justin>>
Popdirt.com: Triumph The Insult Comic Dog on MTV.com joked about life for *NSYNC star Justin Timberlake following his split with longtime galpal Britney Spears. "Justin Timberlake looks good," Triumph said. "He has facial hair now. He looks really tough now that he's getting some tail. It's nice. After two years of just having to lick himself like the rest of us, it's good to see him up there. But Britney, I understand, you know, she's got her thing, she's saving herself. Yeah right, and I poop Godiva chocolate." (read more)
