WildWritings.com Presents:
Jinxed
we're wild about pop culture!
WW: Hello Ladies, How are you?
J: We're great!

WW: Tell us a little about you, your life.
J: Well, we've all been involved in music since we were
young and now we're just working to make that our
career. Besides going to school, that's pretty much what
we've all been up to lately.

WW: Did music always influence you?
J: Yes, absolutely. Music can play such an important role in peoples lives. There's so many situations in life where music can really shape the kind of person you are. If I wasn't raised on rock then who knows what I'd be doing today?  I can't imagine doing anything else right now.

WW: How did you meet up to become Jinxed?
J: Jenna and I(Kristin)  have been close friends since the beginning of middle school and her dad had a mini recording studio where we always used to sing.  We both had ideas about picking up instruments because I wanted to play guitar and her dad played drums.  Jenna knew Sarah since they were young and it just happened that we all met up in high school and Sarah was trying to start a band too. So it just kind of came together and we've been playing ever since.

WW: Where does the name come from?
J: We always say the same things at the same time.  And it's not just little things... it's like extremely random things that we say out of 10 minutes of silence at the same time. Creepy.  So we used to say jinxed and it just kind of stuck.

WW: Where do you get the inspiration to write your own lyrics?
J: Well, we all write lyrics about things we have experienced or things that we have seen other people go through. And everyone is always going through something whether it's good or bad so there's always inspiration for lyrics.

WW: How did you join with 111 Records?
J: A talent scout (Carrie Fields) came to one of our local shows and saw some potential in us ... so she says.  So she then told us about 111 records and hooked us up. We've been in love ever since.

WW: Could you explain your music for us?
J: Our music is pop/rock/emo.  We are influenced by a lot of indie rock bands and rock and roll bands, and pop. You can help but listen to pop these days.  So all of those play into our music and blend together to make our sound.

WW: Tell us about "Relentless", your new single.
J: It's one of the more upbeat songs on the record.  It was one of the first couple of songs we've ever written as a band and it's kind of like one of those happy, feel good songs.  So we hope you all enjoy it.

WW: When can we expect an album?
J: You can start looking for our album on January 20th.  You can check out any updates on our website and we'll keep you posted on www.jinxedrock.com

WW: If you had the chance to work with any other artist, who would you like to work with?
J: Probably the guitarists in Coheed because they have such amazing guitar parts, and for any slower songs, I'd have to say Chris Martin from Coldplay. That would be cool.  There are so many more talented musicians but those are the ones that I can think of off the top of my head.

WW: What music are you currently listening to?
J: The Spill Canvas, Coheed and Cambria, Brand New, and Motion City soundtrack. Those are the CDs I've had in my CD played in the past couple of weeks.

WW: Thanks! Wild Writings wishes you the best in your future music career.
J: Thank you very much, and thanks for the interview!
